Savage 4: All the Covers & Why You Need Them

Savage #4 Cover A by Marcus To

Marcus To concludes his uninterrupted run of Savage covers with this beautiful Savage #4 Cover A. Has any other artist in Valiant Entertainment history ever contributed the lead cover for every issue in a limited series? I always appreciate how his covers address what's going on in the issue.

I also like the vibe he gives Savage. While I appreciate Nathan Stockman's penciling and inking contributions on the twenty pages in each issue, the way Marcus To presents wild boy Kevin Sauvage often reminds me of a young Conan the Barbarian. Well done on this one, as well as your entire run of Savage covers, Marcus To!

Savage #4 Cover B by Paulina Ganucheau

Paulina Ganucheau enjoys cloud photography and painting images of Poison Ivy (the DC character, not the botanical variety). A glance at Comic Vine shows 168 appearances, and she seems to have worked for many, if not all of the comics publishers out there. For Valiant fans, she's previously contributed covers for Livewire and Psi-Lords.

Paulina often employs a limited palate. Here's she's using two of the primary colors on the color wheel--red and yellow--while using a green which leans somewhat toward blue, the third primary color.

With Savage #1 it was hair care products. With Savage #2 it was cologne. With Savage #3, Kevin Savage presented his own brand of soda. Now, with Savage #4, he's selling his own brand of shoes. While I'm not sure Nike would approve of your logo design, well done on a very different and intriguing Savage #4 cover, Paulina!

Savage #4 Pre-order Cover by Peach Momoko

Peach Momoko is a rising star who is rapidly becoming the hottest cover artist in comics. Last year she contributed a stunning cover for Valiant's Doctor Tomorrow series. Now she brings us another beauty: young Kevin dominating a poor squealing dinosaur on the beach.

Lately, Kevin seems a little more inclined to kill our paleolithic friends than in his earlier series. Hopefully he's just trying to break this one's independent spirit so he can ride him. Please don't kill all the dinosaurs, Kev! Leave some for the Jurassic Park film crews, okay?

Well done, Peach Momoko, for contributing an evocative Savage #4 cover.
