Armorclads introduced us to the world of Xeru, and the life of the Ironclads. Take a few moments to ponder the life of the ordinary Alphan soldier. He's likely been conscripted to fight in an endless series of interstellar wars.
He's taken from his home, as well as his homeworld. He's transported to a planet with higher gravity, and an atmosphere more difficult to breathe. He doesn't even have a chance of gaining glory by defeating a dreaded enemy.
Instead, he spends his days babysitting groups of miners bred to live on this world. He guards shipments of the ore they extract. What'll he brag to his friends about when he returns home? What exactly is he accomplishing?
Just when you think you know someone, they surprise you. That's exactly what Valiant's done with Armorclads. It's a tale spun in a completely different universe, where science and legend mix in a fascinating clash of civilizations.
If you love great science fiction stories like Frank Herbert's Dune, Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers, and Joe Haldeman's The Forever War, you'll love Armorclads. If you haven't checked this series out yet, what are you waiting for?
Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll reread my copy of Armorclads #1, while I await for the final issue in the series.
