Savage #3: All the Covers & Why You Need Them

 

Cover A by Marcus To

 

Marcus To is a Canadian artist who has worked with Marvel and DC, as well as other publishers. He painted Cover A for Savage #1, depicting Kevin Sauvage standing inside a dinosaurs mouth. He also created Cover A for Savage #2, showing Kevin fighting off a pack of crocodile-like dinosaurs. Now Marcus returns again.

For Savage #3, he contributes this beautiful image of Savage resting from his labors of defending the world against rampaging dinosaurs. Has Kevin returned to the Beyond, or is he relaxing at Club Med? I guess we'll have to wait to read the issue to find out. Either way, if you enjoy Marcus To's work, you may want to have his Savage cover for every issue.

Cover B by Joe Quinones

 

Joe Quinones is another top artist who has worked with the Big Two and more. Like Marcus To's cover, Cover B is another beach scene. Savage #1 and #2 featured covers showcasing the products that Kevin Sauvage, due to his celebrity status, has been paid to brand or advertise. This time, instead of shampoo and conditioner or cologne, it's soda. So if you like collecting covers based on a particular theme, Cover B is definitely for you.

Pre-Order Cover by Paco Diaz

Paco Diaz is a Spanish artist who has worked on the top titles for Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse. I love the 3D effect he brings to this cover. I also like the dinosaurs he's depicted. I'm not sure if these are more of the same dinosaurs pictured on the Savage #1 Pre-Order cover, or a different species. Either way, I look forward to seeing if the Savage #3 Pre-Order Edition includes a write-up on these ferocious fellows.
