Bloodshot (2019) #1 Covers Part 4

Bloodshot (2019) #1 Carbon Fiber Variant by Jonboy Meyers

No, fans of TV's The Waltons, Jonboy Meyers is not related to his famous namesake, John-Boy Walton. Still, you have to love the look of this cover. We see Bloodshot surrounded by glowing tracer rounds. Some of the gunshots are even smoking away, burning holes into his clothes and flesh.

Bloodshot, knowing the nanites can repair any injury, simply can't be bothered.

The way the red circle on his chest is mimicked behind him suggests a blood-colored moon rising as night falls on the battlefield. It's a haunting, spectral cover, made even more powerful by the material upon which it was printed. Carbon Fiber is one of the lightest and strongest materials created by man. It's even used as the body for Formula One and Indy Cars, which can often hit concrete walls while traveling at speeds of around 200 miles per hour.

Retailers had to order 250 copies of Bloodshot #1 to pick up this beauty. So if you're hunting for this limited edition cover, expect to pay out big time. Still, Bloodshot is the big time. He's definitely worth it.

Bloodshot (2019) #1 Black, White & Red Cover by Jonboy Meyers

If you can't afford the Carbon Fiber Variant, or insist on doing things like paying the rent and eating, this Black, White, and Red Cover is a more affordable option. It allows you to see all the penciling and inking that make up Bloodshot's figure, clothes, and weaponry. The stark background colors also imbue it with drama and power.

A nice alternative look, if not quite so exclusive and high-tech.

Finally, as the world awakens from its Covid-19 slumber, many artists are emerging from their battlements and gearing up for the convention circuit. Perhaps you have a favorite artist? Have him or her design your own new favorite cover. Better yet, meet up with Jonboy Meyers, and let him do a totally exclusive Bloodshot cover--just for you!

Well, there you have it: all the covers Valiant Entertainment released back in 2019 to celebrate the launch of their new Bloodshot series. I hope you've enjoyed this (slightly) longer-than-normal look back at all these beauties. So for now, as Covid-19 continues to slither and hiss its way around the world, I think I'll take a nap. Good-bye for now, all.

And yes, good-night, Jonboy.
