Rai #10 Preview Pages

Rai #10 Cover B by Roberto de la Torre

Sadly, this is where it all ends. Rai and Raijin's adventures in the world of 4002 A.D. come to a close in Rai #10. Still, writer Dan Abnett, penciler and inker Juan Jose Ryp, colorist Andrew Dalhouse, and letterer Dave Sharpe work hard to end the series on a bang, as you can see from this titanic battle in these preview pages.

Enjoy!

Valiant Comics has told some cracking good stories in 2021 that should appeal to people of all ages and interests. I've enjoyed them all, and recommend any of them to you for a fun (and in the case of Shadowman, a scary) read. Nonetheless, Rai stood tall, and remains noteworthy for its smart, mature, and sophisticated storytelling.

You never quite knew where you stood with Rai. Often, I think that was because Rai could never quite make up his own mind about what he should do, and how he should treat the people closest to him. All of us face the ambiguities of life, the eternal (and daily) questions of which path to follow. Rai might have been a positronic warrior who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders, but in that regard, he was just like us.

I miss seeing him, and his older (but seemingly younger) brother Raijin, every month. I hope Valiant will bring Rai back someday, with the same creative team, as an ongoing series. Soon.
