Eternal Warrior #2: Is Time Absolute?

Eternal Warrior #2 Cover by Walter Simonson

Five months into their stay in the Lost Land, the two Gilads and their friend Geoff still fight the Mothergod. Both have lived thousands of years, yet the Gilad Anni-Padda from the year 4000 sees their battle with Erica Pierce as events long ago. This future-Gilad most regrets how his rocky relationship with Aram deteriorated after they defeated Erica, and he and his brother returned to their lives in the 1990s.

As a geomancer, the Earth speaks to Geoff. Yet when he finds a battered record, it tells him about its previous owner, Erica. Through the warped vinyl, he discovers that the so-called Mothergod is inadvertently repeating the mistakes her father made with her. It would seem that the pattern of abuse, once begun, is not a cycle easily stopped.

One development in this issue makes us wonder if this war in the Lost Land has cost us a second Valiant hero. Another makes future Gilad question whether the events he lived through in the Lost Land must occur as he remembered them.

Eternal Warrior #2 launches us into the final nine issues of the 1990s Unity saga. I can't wait to read more!
