Bloodshot #12: One Final Cover & the Artistry of Jim Towe

Bloodshot #12 Pre-Order Cover by Jim Towe

Here it is, Valiant fans: one last cover for writer Tim Seeley's Bloodshot series. The front of the car our nanite-fueled hero is perched upon reminds me of the old Dodge Chargers I've always admired. (I may not be a Chrysler fan, but muscle cars are cool). One thing's for sure: it's not hard to do the math on this cover.

Bloodshot + Muscle Cars + Big City Shootout = One Great Valiant Cover

As a little preview, here's what Valiant has to say about Bloodshot #12.

The action-packed finale of Tim Seeley's BLOODSHOT run has arrived.

In this explosive final issue, Bloodshot stands against impossible odds as one of his classic foes has turned his allies against him. Featuring artwork by Pedro Andreo, colors by Andrew Dalhouse, and letters by Dave Sharpe, we hope you enjoy the conclusion of Bloodshot's "One Last Shot."

Plus: This issue features the comic writing debut of Comicstorian with a backup four-page recap story, which may serve as a nice refresher before Bloodshot returns in the future...

As you may recall, Jim Towe did the interior art for Valiant Comics' miniseries Doctor Tomorrow last year. The five-issue story introduced us to young Bart Simms, and we followed his journey toward becoming Valiant's newest superhero. It also showed us more of our Valiant heroes together, fighting side-by-side with Bart, in the defense of our universe.

To refresh your memory, here's a scene with young Bart Simms, and his older counterpart from another universe, alongside Bloodshot and our Valiant heroes.

Here's another scene drawn by Jim Towe's talented hand, this time showcasing mighty X-O Manowar in action.

Here's a final example of Jim's brilliance: his X-O Manowar #4 Pre-order Cover.

If you missed out on this cover, you may want to check around with your local comic shop, and see if they still have any unclaimed issues in stock.

As with covers A and B, my question concerning Jim Towe's Bloodshot #12 Pre-order cover is does it celebrate Bloodshot in general terms, or does it relate to events that take place in this issue? I guess we'll have to wait until next Wednesday to learn the answer. In the meantime, I can tell you that X-O Manowar will appear in Bloodshot #12. As Bloodshot and mighty X-O Manowar don't always get along, I can't wait to see how that reunion goes.

I'll leave you with a snippet of Bloodshot and KT from interior artist Pedro Andreo and colorist Andrew Dalhouse, and some final words from Valiant Comics.

“One Last Shot” has a final epic battle!

Will Bloodshot and his team be able to stop one of his greatest villains from obtaining Project Rising Spirit’s most insidious weapon?

It’s the jaw-dropping conclusion to the series by best-selling writer Tim Seeley and rising star Pedro Andreo!

Check back tomorrow, when I'll post the preview pages for this final (sob!) issue of Tim Seeley's Bloodshot series.
