Rai #6 Preview Pages

Rai #6 Cover A by Netho Diaz

If you're new to Valiant Comics, allow me to introduce you to one of my favorite series. Rai, the former positronic protector of New Japan, treks against the strange future Earth of 4002 A.D. Along with his elder brother Raijin, who is shorter than him and looks younger, they search for remnants of Father, the Artificial Intelligence that ruled the orbital city.

In Rai #6, they rescue a Roman legion being attacked by wild animals. As you'll see, Rai really shines in the battle, doing the work of an entire cohort. He's so quick, it almost seems as if he's everywhere at once.

Romans in 4002 A.D.? What's up with that, you ask? Sorry, you'll have to read the entire issue to learn more.

Enjoy!

Rai was one of those initial series that helped found the Valiant Universe in the 1990s. The first modern series of Rai came out in 2014. The sixth issue of this sequel series--by writer Dan Abnett, penciler & inker Juan Jose Ryp, colorist Andrew Dalhouse, and letterer Dave Sharpe--came out last August.

You should be able to find Rai #6, which came with four different covers, in your local shop. If you prefer trade paperbacks, you can always pick up Rai Book Two, which collects issues #6-10. Happy Rai-hunting!
